During the year 2014, Spanish households consumed 18.1 million kilos of honey and spent 97.7 million euros on this product. In per capita terms, it reached 0.4 kilos of consumption and 2.2 euros of expenditure. The most notable consumption is associated with packaged honey (0.3 kilos per person and year), while the consumption of honey in bulk was 0.1 kilos per person per year. In terms of expenditure, packaged honey accounts for 68.2% of expenditure, with a total of € 1.5 per person, while honey in bulk has a percentage of 31.8% and a total of 70 euro cents Per person per year. By autonomous communities, Cantabria, Catalonia and Comunidad Valenciana have the highest consumption of honey while, on the contrary, the lowest demand is associated with Galicia, Castilla-La Mancha and Extremadura.
